May One Card Draw

The May One Card Draw is now OPENCLOSED! Thank you for your participation and support!

Comment and I will pull a card for you from my original, unique bird oracle deck. Anyone and everyone is welcome! The more detail you give in your request, the better I can interpret the card's meaning for you, which is my role as intermediary, however, even just a general request will get my best effort; it's up to you. For privacy, you may post anonymously; sponsors may choose to get their reading via private message.

If you are facing a choice, the cards may help point in the most positive direction for you. You may request an overall card to meditate upon. You might want a card to let you know what new thing may come into your life in the near future, or what is the most important thing facing you at this time. You may ask a specific question and we will see if the universal subconscious can answer it for you. However you use this opportunity, I hope it will be helpful!

Today, I'm working for tips; please support my work if you can! All sponsors may request a second card! (This may be a new question or more detail on the original question, whatever you prefer!)
If total tips exceed $15, I will select from all sponsors to receive a free Wings reading. At $25, a random sponsor will receive a Simple Nest reading. At $50, everyone gets into the running to win a Wings read, and at $75, everyone gets a chance at a Simple Nest. Thank you for your support!
Can't afford to tip? Spread the word! Post a link to my draw in at least two different places and you can request a second card! Thank you!

FINAL UPDATE: We made the second incentive! Sponsors, you are all in the pot for both a Wings and a Simple Nest reading! I will do the drawing hopefully sometime today and notify the winners. Thank you for your support!

As always, please see the disclaimer on my profile page. Also, remember that you can purchase a read at any time from that same profile page or from my website!

Thank you so much for your support! As a sponsor, you get two cards; you may have them both general, both on the same subject, both on separate subjects, whatever you want. :)

I drew two cards to help you; they may or may not be related. :)

First, I drew Roadrunner. Speed! This bird is first and foremost about speed. This includes multitasking and being verbally quick and mental agility, too! Roadrunners are also tough and quick enough to take on a rattlesnake.
While independence is good and natural for this bird, it can backfire, so don't be afraid to accept a little help if you need it.

Second, I drew Thunderbird, one of the five mythical birds in the deck. As the name suggests, this bird is associated with storms and their components. This is an intelligent, wrathful, and powerful creature that one should be careful not to anger and be sure to respect.

I hope this helpful to you!

*laugh* Well, these are certainly relevant cards for you.

First is Blackbird...which is all about sleep! This bird sings you sleep, brings sleep, is even associated with hypnosis! Blackbird is also associated with deep introversion, being blackened by smoke, and being able to sway with the changes. This bird is also associated with a time of waiting for a small but important thing to happen.

Second is Pelican. These ancient birds echo the great carnivorous dinosaurs; they will look you in the eye while they eat you alive. They are good but tough parents; only the strongest survive.
This bird also reminds us that he who lives by the sword, dies by the sword, and echo the Christianity of the Middle Ages, pious, cooperative out of necessity, brutal and sacrificial in the same breath.

I fear teething is not going to be a good time for you!

I would love a one card. I don't have a checking account so I have no idea how I could donate ..but I definitely appreciate you doing this.

I'm really struggling with trust in my relationship. I found out my fiance has a crush on a co-worker & while he admits he is no cheater, there was a time where he wondered what it would have been like to go a different path without me. While he hasn't "done anything" that I am aware of, this hurt me to the core & we are getting married in November & I am still feeling fearful of cheating being an option he may choose. I am struggling so hard with this & would really love some assurance that the changes we are making in our lives will get us back on track in our relationship. Can I stop worrying?

Thank you so much.

I'm glad to be of service. If you do ever want to purchase a reading or donate, I can provide you with an address to send a postal money order to. :)

For you, I drew Falcon. "When you look into the abyss, the abyss looks also into you." Reality may not be what you think it is. The sky, which seems blue and seems black and is no color in the end because it is not a thing but an emptiness, is the true abyss. This bird, a distant King and a fighter, understands the infinite.
This bird is a wild thing that can be tamed, willing to make a home wherever one is offered and do what comes naturally to it in exchange.

While I think Falcon is suggesting that as long as you are a good partner, your fiance will not have any reason to stray, and so I can suggest that you not worry on that score, I think Falcon is speaking to you even more deeply than that. The problem is not whether he will cheat, but why you feel so insecure. Most people wonder about life without their partner from time to time, and many fantasize frequently. If you are feeling so very unsafe in this relationship, you need to look into why that is; does your partner fail to do everything a good partner should? If so, why? If not, why do you have so little trust in him? If you have trust issues in general, this is something you should probably work through before getting married.

Good luck!

May I have a card, just a general reading?

I drew the Bewick's Swan, the bird of the monk, associated with dignity, wisdom, bouyancy/staying afloat, support/friends, the respected dead/funerals, sensitivity and empathy in somber times, elegant style and poetry.

I hope this is helpful!

Thank you! That means you get two cards! Do you want them both on the same question or separate ones or one for contemplation or meditation or what the universe has to day?

Aww thank you! How about one on that question and one on what the universe has to say to me :-)

On what your near future after graduation holds, I drew Parrot. This is the bird of passion and compassion. Intelligent, empathetic and long lived, these birds bond intensely, lovers mimic each other, and are fiery in many ways. With their talented speech, they also represent the gift of language. Finally, they remind us, as chocolate is very toxic to them, what seems good can sometimes be bad.

For your message from the universe, I drew Peafowl. I notice right away that both these birds make reference to poison antidotes and I want to highlight that point for you. That's only a small part of Peafowl, though. This is the bird of technology, grounded in practical, earthly applications; communication, light, sound waves, color.
This bird is also symbolic of the spiritually evolved being that chooses to remain in mortality, chooses to be part of life and to help others, combining intuition, compassion and spiritual clarity.
Peahens are very good mothers, in a humble and simple way. In many ways, these birds are quite dignified and quiet, and may advise similar behavior, as well as watchfulness and observation.
Finally, these birds bring a lesson about beauty. While they are among the most beautiful of birds, they have a horrible voice (especially the peacock) and rather ugly feet. They teach us that we should be neither too proud of our beauty or too ashamed of less than beautiful parts; that people will see what they choose to see, and we should be always aware that everyone has beautiful and ugly aspects, and be humble about our own.

Good cards! I hope this is helpful!

Thank you :-) Amusingly, peacocks have returned to me as my mentor animal.. they are one of my animals that cycle in and out. Very appropriate. Hopefully they mean that I will also gain a teaching job after graduation too!

Actually, I think I'd like to change - one for my parenting and one just for me for meditation, if that works. Thank you again!

Oh, glad I didn't do the read before you changed your mind! For once, all the distractions came in handy! :)

For parenting, I drew Quetzal. The powerful, driving message of this bird is freedom, freedom above all things, even life. The quetzal also carves its nest out of dead or sick trees, has large eyes adapted well to the dim light of the forests it lives in and has thick feathers to protect fragile skin; this bid teaches about the complexity of natural, biological adaptation, and is also linked to plant growth.

Hah! For meditation, you got Falcon! "When you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you." Reality may not be what you think it is. The sky, which seems blue and seems black and is no color in the end because it is not a thing, but an emptiness, is the true abyss. This bird, distant King and fighter, understands the infinite. The falcon is a wild thing that can be tamed, willing to make a home wherever one is offered and do what comes naturally to it in exchange.

I love the Falcon card, of course. :-) Do you have thoughts about the Quetzal as it relates to parenting? And is it okay to post the reading verbatim on my LJ?

I have some vague thoughts based on what I know is going on with you right now, but I'd be able to interpret better if I knew specifically what you were thinking about when you asked. And it is completely okay! :)

For you, I drew the Curlew. A timid, wary bird associated with death by natural causes, melancholia and being awake at night, wandering. This is the insomniac's bird. Curlew is also predictive of rain.

Heh. This is pretty appropriate for the whole household lately. Probably doesn't help that I'm down with a particularly nasty sinus infection and not thinking straight. :) <3
