September One Card Draw!

Welcome to the One Card Draw here at Wren Starling's blog! The draw is NOW OPEN! CLOSED!

THANK YOU for your support! It was wonderful to help you with my gift and wonderful to be gifted in return!

Comment and I will pull a card for you from my original, unique bird oracle deck. Anyone and everyone is welcome! The more detail you give in your request, the better I can interpret the card's meaning for you, which is my role as intermediary, however, even just a general request will get my best effort; it's up to you. For privacy, you may post anonymously; sponsors may choose to get their reading via private message.

If you are facing a choice, the cards may help point in the most positive direction for you. You may request an overall card to meditate upon. You might want a card to let you know what new thing may come into your life in the near future, or what is the most important thing facing you at this time. You may ask a specific question and we will see if the universal subconscious can answer it for you. However you use this opportunity, I hope it will be helpful!

If you publicize or choose to sponsor today's one card draw, you may request a second card! Otherwise, please keep it to one request per person so that the most people may be served. Thank you!

Today, I'm working for tips; please support my work if you can!
If total tips exceed $25, I will select a random donor (please include your handle in the special message section when you donate!) to receive a free Wings reading. At $50, a random donor will receive a Simple Nest reading. At $75, everyone gets into the running to win a Wings read, and at $100, everyone gets a chance at a Simple Nest. Thank you for your support!

Progress update: What a wonderful thing to wake up to! You have earned the Simple Nest reading for donors as well! Winners will be notified at their Paypal email address!

I plan to take requests till I get back to the computer in the morning, unless I get way overloaded, then sponsors will get a guaranteed read and everyone else will have to take their chances. :)

As always, please take note of the disclaimer on my profile page. Thank you!

I'm coming into my dark, introspective time of the year (Fall always does that too me). I'd love a card draw to help guide where my introspection will be most fruitful this season since I lately am so content (that's a good thing :D) that I'm not sure what needs addressing.

Thanks!

The Nightjar (Whippoorwill) makes a second appearance; fittingly, as this bird is the dark, introspective bird of Fall!
They nest in dead leaves, the soil most and growing fertile beneath. From death springs always new life and often what looks like death is only hibernation.

I think perhaps there is something that you think you have dealt with that is only slumbering in your psyche; perhaps your introspection will be about finding that hidden enemy, routing it from its camouflage to be properly and finally dealt with.

Good luck, and thank you so much!

Don't worry about it, Jake, you've been very supportive and I appreciate it a lot! *hug*

I drew Goldfinch. This bird brings flashes of insight, usually sudden, bright and complete, but sometimes elusive, hard to grasp. They speak of suddenly seeing something that was hidden, especially a hidden choice.

So maybe there's an option you aren't seeing?

Actually, this opportunity has opened my eyes to things that I didn't think were possible with my financial situation, credit, etc. So, it may be confirming what I've just been exposed to.

*sigh*... wish it would POINT ;)... guess that is my job... lol.

That makes sense!

*laugh* That WOULD be nice. It happens sometimes, but so rarely when you really WANT it to! ;)

I'm sure it will be clear to you why I drew Crane, so I'll just give you the description! :)
Cranes are linked to the transport of stones and small birds (as passengers, that is), in addition to the emotional transport of dance. They are also, due to their extreme angularity, associated with alphabets and arcane knowledge. They are generally a symbol of good luck and may point to the recovery of something lost or stolen. People associated with this bird may have a tendency to be misunderstood when speaking or singing. Finally, they are also associated with longevity, vigilance, fidelity, and focus.

Hrm. You got Falcon. "When you look into the abyss, the abyss looks also into you." Reality may not be what you think it is. The sky, which seems blue and seems black and is no color in the end, because it is not a thing, but an emptiness, is the true abyss. This bird understands the infinite. It is the distant king, the fighter. It is a wild thing that can be tamed, willing to make a home wherever one is offered and do what comes naturally to it in exchange.

I hope this is helpful!

The lovely miintikwa sent me. Might I request a card about my body?

For you, I drew Sparrow. You may be common, but that does not mean you don't have value; you have great value! Each person has something unique to offer the family/community. Remember to appreciate the contributions of others, too!
Sparrows, a "feeling" rather than "thinking" sort of bird, are benevolent household spirits. One's house does not need to be perfectly neat and tidy when it is filled with love and the knowledge that love is what matters most. Finally, remember that the light and shallow can be just as valuable as the deep and heavy.

I think this pretty clearly speaks for itself!

Really, really interested in what the universe has in store for me/my husband and farm family with respect to a larger property...will it be the one we've been wanting and when will we know? Hope the birds can lead us to a clearer vision! Thanks!

For you, I drew Quetzal. Freedom, freedom above all things, even life itself! This is the powerful, driving message of this bird.
The quetzal also carves its nest out of dead or sick trees, has large eyes adapted well to the dim light of the forests it lives in, and has thick feathers to protect fragile skin; this bird teaches about the complexity of natural, biological adaptation, and is also linked to plant growth.

I believe this is meant to tell you that whether it is the property you want or not, what matters is that you will be free and you will adapt and grow. I'm afraid it doesn't give a timeline, but I sense that it will be sooner rather than later; the quetzal does not convey a sense of patience!

Not too late! :) Welcome.
Kingfisher comes to assure you that sometimes the best way to make a home is bash it out, even if you get injured in the process. You will come out of this with a clear vision. Spend time with water; drink plenty of it. Pursue sensible prosperity, and there will be halcyon days ahead. (Things should improve, at least temporarily, around the winter solstice.)

I hope this is helpful to you!

I'm supposed to tell you miintikwa sent me. I couldn't resist BIRD.

There are things I want, things I'm thinking about getting, and things I'm wanting to save for. Wonder if the birds can give me some insight about my options?

Thank you! :)

*grin* Me, either. Birds are not subtle when they call you, in my experience! :)

*laugh* I drew Starling, whose first words are "present in the now/today/don't wait", so there's an answer for you! There are things that are smoldering that may change the shape of the future for you, which is probably why you shouldn't wait. :)

Technically, the draw has been over for several days, but I went ahead and drew a card for you anyway. :)
I drew for you the Bowerbird. I really had no idea how this related to your question, as the card doesn't really address health or body in any way, so I drew a second card and got Penguin, which talks about surprising sacrifice and being hobbled in one world while flying in another, about different perspectives. With this second card, the first card now makes sense; I fear you will continue to have health and body issues, but that there is good news, in that you can build a new life of creativity and beauty even while limited by your health. You should be thoughtful, think things through, be patient and precise.

I wish I had better news for you!
